Merseyside Play Action Council (MPAC) is proud to announce that it will be administering Liverpool’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme for the next three years, beginning with the Summer Holidays in 2026.
The HAF Programme is a vital national initiative funded by the Department for Education, designed to support children and families during the school holidays. It provides free holiday clubs for children and young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals, combining exciting activities with nutritious meals and wider support for families.
From Summer 2026, MPAC will work in partnership with Liverpool City Council and a wide network of community organisations, schools and activity providers to deliver the programme across the city. The goal is simple but powerful: to ensure that every child who needs it has access to safe, welcoming and enriching holiday activities close to home.
Each year, the programme will provide thousands of children and young people with opportunities to take part in sports, creative arts, outdoor play, cultural activities and learning experiences during the school holidays. Alongside the activities, children will receive healthy meals and families will be able to access support, advice and information around food, wellbeing and local services.
MPAC brings decades of experience supporting play, youth and community provision across Liverpool. By coordinating the HAF Programme, the organisation will work with trusted local partners to strengthen and expand the city’s holiday offer, ensuring activities are inclusive, accessible and rooted in communities.
