Liverpool offers a range of mental health support services for family members, including crisis support, and community resources.
1. Liverpool City Council Support
Get Help for a Relative or Friend: If you are concerned about a family member or friend who may need support, you can reach out to Liverpool City Council for assistance. They provide guidance on how to access adult social care and other support services tailored to individual needs.
2. Talking Therapies Liverpool
Psychological Treatments: This service offers free and confidential talking therapies for adults aged 16 and over who are registered with a Liverpool GP. They provide support for common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. The service includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic approaches.
3. The Liverpool Light
Crisis Support: The Liverpool Light is an out-of-hours mental health crisis service available from 6 PM to 1 AM, seven days a week. It provides a safe space for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, offering support and intervention in a secure environment.
4. Helplines and Additional Support
Mind Helplines: Mind offers helplines providing information and support for anyone affected by mental health problems, including family members. They are available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
5. PSS Wellbeing Centres
PSS Wellbeing Centres: For those aged 18 and over, PSS offers live mental health sessions and group support. You can self-refer or contact them for more information.
6. HealthWatch Liverpool
Information and Guidance: HealthWatch Liverpool provides information and guidance on health and social care services, including mental health support. They can be contacted for up-to-date information on available services.
