Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF)

Programme aims…

The aim of the HAF Programme is to make free places available to children eligible for benefits-related free school meals for the equivalent of at least four hours a day, four days a week and for six weeks a year. The programme will help children and young people to:

• Eat more healthily over the school holidays (programmes will be expected to work towards the school food standards as part of the programme)
• Be more active during the school holidays
• Take part in engaging and enriching activates which support the development of resilience, character, and well-being along with their wider education attainment
• Be safe and not to be socially isolated
• Have increased knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating; and
• Be more engaged with school and other local services

Can my child enrol on the Programme?

If your child is currently in receipt of benefits-related free school meals, they are eligible to enrol on the HAF Programme.
