PAC-UK (Family Action)

PAC-UK is part of the national charity Family Action and is the UK’s largest independent adoption support agency. The organisation provides specialist counselling, advice and therapeutic support to people affected by adoption, special guardianship and other forms of permanent care. Their services support adopted people, adoptive parents, birth relatives and professionals working with families.

PAC-UK offers a range of services including family therapy, education support, training for professionals, and specialist advice lines. Their Liverpool office operates from the MPAC building and provides support to families across the North West. PAC-UK has consistently received ‘Outstanding’ ratings from Ofsted for the quality of its services.

Liverpool Homeless Football Club

Liverpool Homeless Football Club is a registered charity that uses the power of football to support people affected by homelessness across Merseyside. Established in 2007, the organisation runs a weekly homeless football league bringing together individuals and partner organisations from across the region.

The club provides much more than sport. Through football and community activities it helps participants improve their physical and mental wellbeing while also supporting them into training, employment, healthy lifestyles and stable accommodation. The organisation also runs a women’s project and community events throughout the year, helping to challenge stigma and break down stereotypes surrounding homelessness.

YPAS (Young Persons Advisory Service)

YPAS is a long-established Merseyside charity that supports children, young people and families experiencing mental health and emotional wellbeing challenges. Founded in 1966, the organisation works with more than 150,000 children and young people across the region.

YPAS provides counselling, therapeutic services, advice and practical support for young people aged 5–25. Services are delivered across a wide range of settings including schools, GP surgeries, community venues and dedicated YPAS hubs across Liverpool. The organisation works closely with families, schools and professionals to ensure young people can access the support they need to thrive.

The Windows Project

The Windows Project is a Liverpool-based creative writing charity founded in 1976 by Dave Calder and Dave Ward. For nearly 50 years the organisation has worked with children, young people and adults across Merseyside to develop creativity, confidence and self-expression through writing.

The charity delivers creative writing workshops in youth centres, schools, community projects, festivals and playschemes. Their work is particularly focused on supporting children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with additional needs.

The Windows Project also runs a Writing Advice Desk at Liverpool Central Library on the first Wednesday of every month, offering aspiring writers, poets and scriptwriters the opportunity to receive feedback and guidance on their work. Virtual sessions are also available, ensuring access for people of all abilities and locations.

Liverpool City Council – Care Leavers Team

Liverpool City Council’s Care Leavers Team supports young people aged 18–25 who have previously been in the care of the local authority. Each young person is allocated a Personal Advisor who provides practical advice and support as they move towards independence.

Support includes help with housing, employment, education, training, wellbeing and life skills. The team also works to ensure that care leavers remain connected to supportive networks and opportunities.

A temporary hub is currently based within the MPAC building, providing a safe and welcoming space where care leavers can take part in activities, access support, attend training and socialise with others.

Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association

Hung Gar Kung Fu Club is a Liverpool-based martial arts club teaching traditional Hung Gar Kung Fu, a classical Southern Chinese martial art known for its powerful stances, strength training and practical self-defence techniques.

The club provides structured training for children, young people and adults, welcoming beginners as well as those with previous martial arts experience. Sessions focus not only on physical fitness and martial arts skills, but also on discipline, confidence, respect and personal development.

Classes typically include traditional forms, self-defence techniques, conditioning exercises and partner training, helping participants to build strength, coordination and resilience in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Based at the MPAC building, the club offers a friendly community setting where people can improve their health and wellbeing while learning an authentic martial arts tradition.

North West Kurdish Community Centre

The North West Kurdish Community Centre supports Kurdish individuals and families living in Liverpool and across the wider North West. The organisation provides a welcoming community space where people can access advice, social activities and cultural support.
