May Half Term Holidays 2021

52 play schemes were supported in providing free activities and food for children and young people across Liverpool this half term.

Easter Holidays 2021

Positive About Play supported 47 play schemes across Liverpool over the Easter holidays through distribution of grant funding, 470 arts and crafts activities packs and ambient food. The play schemes delivered a range of online and in person (socially distanced) play activities as well as a variety of free food provision to those children, young people and families most in need.

February Half Term 2021

Positive About Play supported 40 play schemes across Liverpool during February half term through distribution of grant funding, 400 arts and crafts activities packs and ambient food. The play schemes delivered a range of online and in person (socially distanced) play activities as well as a variety of free food provision to those children, young people and families most in need.

Christmas Holidays 2020

Positive About Play were able to support 45 Christmas play schemes with funding to deliver a range of free play scheme activities and free food provision to children, young people and their families. The number of organisations funded by Positive About Play and delivering activities over the 2020 Christmas period in Liverpool was more than double that of December 2019.

MPAC and Positive About Play are supporting 45 organisations across the city in delivering a range of free play scheme activities and free food provision to children, young people and their families over the Christmas holiday period.

Activities will be starting Monday 14th December.

Positive About Play – October Half Term 2020

Positive about Play were able to distribute just over £8,000 of funding to 41 play schemes for the October half term holidays.  The play schemes provided a variety of over 12,000 food hampers, grab and go lunches, breakfasts and food bags for over 2,000 children, young people and their families.

MPAC also provided over 200 activity packs (these were pre-packed boxes consisting of footballs, skipping ropes, hula hoops and other equipment aimed at encouraging physical activity) to the play schemes who then either distributed the packs to families in need or used the packs to deliver play activities to ‘bubbles’ of children and young people.

Positive About Play – Summer 2020

Positive about Play distributed just over £74,000 of funding to 53 play schemes for summer 2020.

Play schemes meticulously planned and delivered activities over the summer which included a range of online/remote and outdoor/indoor activities as well as food provision.

Over 30,000 food hampers, grab and go lunches, breakfasts and food bags were distributed to over 2,300 children, young people and their families.

MPAC also provided 260 activity packs with play instruction booklets (these were prepacked boxes consisting of footballs, skipping ropes, hula hoops and other equipment aimed at encouraging physical activity) to the play schemes who then either distributed the packs to families in need or used the packs to deliver play activities to ‘bubbles’ of children and young people.

MPAC Food Hub Summer 2019

Thanks to the Mayor’s Hardship Fund MPAC were able to organise a food hub over the 2019 Summer holidays. Click here to see the impact of our first food hub.

– Over 7 tonnes of ambient food were delivered directly to 30 play schemes over the six weeks of Summer

– Over 70 play schemes had access to the food hub

– Over 54,000 meals and snacks were provided to children and young people in Liverpool over Summer 2019 via the MPAC food hub’s network with the play schemes across the city
